Drive Logistics Driver's Training

Orientation

New drivers to the Drive Logistics Team learn about company culture through our Guiding Values, and their role in helping Drive become our Customer's #1 Choice. New drivers to our company are trained in the areas of Health and Safety, Company Procedures (including in-house trip reporting) Border Crossing, and Communications. Drivers also spend time getting to know the rest of the Drive team and how their functions synergize to bring our customers the very highest level of service.

The Orientation program is divided into 2 parts; 1) Classroom and 2) On-The-Job.

  • Thoroughly trains new drivers in policies, procedures, and required paperwork
  • Total time spent in the classroom is approximately 4 hours

2) On-The-Job

  • Mentor accompanies new drivers on their first experiences with our company to guide them in border crossing procedures, paperwork, safe driving techniques

The Drive Logistics University Apprenticeship Program

On August 2, 2006, Drive Logistics became an official apprenticeship sponsor. The Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, was on hand to officially welcome the first apprentices in the program. These apprentices are the first drivers in the Windsor/Essex county area to be entered into the Ontario Apprenticeship Program.

Drive Logistics believes the Apprenticeship Program will help us develop new drivers into top notch professionals which will allow us to continue to offer a premium service to our customers. The Training and Safety departments at Drive Logistics have spent many hours developing training material to exceed the Ministry's requirements for the program. This program will give the professional drivers the recognition they deserve and help promote our industry to Ontario's youth.
