Position: Dispatcher - Windsor


Description

Position Overview
The Dispatcher will be a main point of contact for all Owner Operators, Drivers and Customers and will ensure that Owner Operators and Drivers are dispatched according to set schedules, customer requirements and applicable laws and regulations. This position requires someone who is positive, dynamic and takes pride in developing great interpersonal relationships. Proactive problem solving and decision making are essential to the success of the job.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dispatch drivers in a timely manner to ensure on-time pickups/deliveries
  • Develop positive relationships with drivers through effective communication
  • Call drivers to check availability and confirm assignments
  • Monitor drivers through each leg of the trip and report possible service failures to a Supervisor
  • Complete web updates as per customer instructions and notify customers of any late pickups/deliveries
  • Update and enter applicable notes into Freight Logix
  • Complete empty miles report
  • Must be able to work other shifts in the event of illnesses/vacations, etc.

  • Ability to speak Punjabi an asset

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have completed the 90 day probationary period
  • Previous dispatching/call centre experience an asset
  • Post-secondary education an asset



Position: Recruiter - Michigan


Description

Position Overview
The Recruiter organizes, manages and monitors the planned recruitment plan for the geographical area and is also responsible for the development of an ongoing pool of qualified Drivers and Owner Operators to fulfill the labour requirements needed to grow the business. An assertive energetic approach to networking and developing potential candidates is required to be successful. Having experience in the trucking industry is a definite asset. Other factors that will help ensure success include; integrity to maintain confidentiality, sound judgment, good problem solving skills, trustworthiness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage strategic recruitment plans for the geographical area
  • Maintain a database of qualified candidates
  • Use a variety of candidate assessment and interview techniques to search, prescreen, qualify, and secure candidates that meet the Company's expectations
  • Ensure staffing numbers align with current and future workforce needs
  • Direct and build a high performing team that is driven to achieve results
  • Manage all aspects of the hiring process and employee file maintenance (i.e. driver references, orientation, road testing, record keeping, on-the-job training, etc.)
  • Utilize diverse sourcing methods, including internet sites, employee referrals, networking, forums and competitive intelligence
  • Research, evaluate and make recommendations on the most effective advertising methods
  • Maintain knowledge of employment and market trends
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvement requests as needed
  • Provide recruiting updates to the Management team in a timely manner
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance needs are met

  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated recruiting experience
  • University Degree or College diploma in Human Resources an asset
  • AZ license and driving experience an asset

Position: Mechanic Helper


 

Mechanic Helper

 

Position Overview

The Mechanic Helper provides assistance to our licensed Truck Mechanic and Trailer Mechanic, giving them the opportunity to be mentored by our highly skilled maintenance personnel.  In additionto mechanical maintenance, the helper also performs peripheral duties such as preparing and cleaning the work area and equipment as well as building maintenance functions that include yard checks and cleaning, trailer washing, etc. An assertive energetic approach and an ability to take initiative is required to be successful.  Having experience in the trucking industry is a definite asset. Other factors that will help ensure success include sound judgment, good problem solving skills, and trustworthiness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Mechanics with repairs
  • Property and building maintenance
  • Yard checks
  • Pickup supplies from outside vendors – must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Organize, clean and store tools, equipment and supplies
  • Inventory parts and supplies
  • General labour duties as needed

Education and/or Experience:

 

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Experience in tractor/trailer repairs or maintenance an asset
  • Valid Driver’s license
