Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) and U.S. Customs Border Protection (CBP) have increasingly
shifted their attention to securing the supply chain, with new minimum requirements and suggested “best practices” becoming just a daily mandate from point of origin to final delivery.
Drive Logistics met the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) initiative head on with Customs-Trade Partnership
Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) certification, Customs Self Assessment (CSA) and Partners in Protection
(PIP) approval. With the latest announcement of new C-TPAT Highway Carrier Security Criteria on
March 13, 2006 we are busy incorporating these minimum security requirements in order to meet the
current 180 day implementation plan mandated for continued participation. The new guidelines
include quarterly risk assessments and developing and maintaining a secure system including
communicating C-TPAT information to our supply chain.
Drive Logistics is:
- C-TPAT Participant
- FAST Approved
- CSA Approved
- PIP Approved
- ACE Manifesting (Expected to be Mandatory by end of 2006)
It is now time to ask yourself, “is my carrier ready to support me?”
